Baby Vader
0This was, by far, the best Super Bowl commercial this year.
Lin recorded the Today Show segment for me where “Vader” was unmasked, and the kid could play a very young Anakin! Too cute!

Wonder Woman by Janet Stone Wade
0Janet is part of what we refer to around here as “Team Jetta”. She is co-writer and inker on the Jetta: Tales of the Toshigawa series with her husband, Martheus Wade.
Janet recently did a new Wonder Woman pinup that I love. Be sure to check out more of Janet’s artwork at her DeviantArt page.
Birds News
0The Source has posted several bits of Birds-related news today.
First comes word that Jesus Saiz will be new regular ongoing artist beginning with Issue #12.
*sigh*
The lack of consistent art from issue to issue (and often within the same issue) has been my only complaint with the Birds relaunch. I know that Gail mentioned that unforeseen circumstances arose, and I’m certainly not throwing stones at the artists. I feel this is mismanagement at the Editorial level, and it’s not confined to just Birds of Prey. It appears that production schedules are too compacted and allow no time to recover and hit deadlines if issues arise. I make my living as a Product Manager, which involved managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, so I know firsthand how difficult it can be. Why not build spare inventory of a couple of issues to allow for such circumstances?
They also give us a sneak peak at Saiz’ cover for Issue #12. I don’t think anyone really believed that DC was going to kill Babs in the current “Death of Oracle” storyline, but I don’t know if showing this cover with Babs front and center was a good idea.
I like Jesus Saiz’ art, so I’m happy to see him come aboard. Good luck, Jesus!

Next up is the preview of Birds of Prey #8, which is out today. I’ll note that Guillem March is the artist for this issue. If I remember correctly, the solicitation listed Ardian Syaf as the artist.
I think I’ve already beat this horse, so moving on…

Lastly, we have the cover for Birds of Prey #12, scheduled for release in April. I approve of this cover!
The Most “Wonder”ful Time of the Year
0Christmas has come and gone, and I hope that each of you had a very happy holiday. I received more items for my Fangirl Room, courtesy of my fiancee. This is a pic of just the Wonder Woman stuff.
One of the coolest things I received was the Wonder Woman picture frame, and Lin printed a picture of Gail Simone and I from MidSouthCon to go in it.
I also LOVE the Batgirl baseball cap he got for me.

The girls, Jarael and Harley, enjoyed their Christmas goodies, too.
As a present to myself, I bought a new computer last night. My old one was about 10 years old and dying by inches. I’m looking forward to blogging more in 2011 with a more reliable computer now in my possession.
When Fangirls Attack
0After a long hiatus, the link blog When Fangirls Attack is back. I was very happy to see that my RSS feed was full of links from WFA yesterday morning, so I will be catching up on links I might have missed thanks to them. WFA is one of the first women-centric comics blogs I found when I started tiptoeing into comics fandom, and they were missed in their absence.
The founders of WFA, Ragnell and Kalinara, have founded another link aggregator blog called Dispatches From the Fridge. Be sure to add this link to your RSS reader as well.
