The Suicide Squad comics were some of my first forays into comics a few years ago, and they hold a special place in this fangirl’s heart. As a result, I’ve been a bit apprehensive about the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, but I’m feeling better today after Warner Brothers officially released the trailer shown to the Hall H crowd this weekend in San Diego.

First Impressions
– AMANDA FREAKIN’ WALLER!!!! Ok, I had to get the fangirling out of my system for a moment. Viola Davis is an inspired choice to play The Wall.

– Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is the star of the trailer. Lots of shots of Harley, and they all looked good. I’m still not a big fan of the costume they’ve given this version of Harley, but it could have been a helluva lot worse.
– We get glimpses of the other Squad members. Will Smith’s Deadshot receives the most screen time after Waller and Harley in the trailer.
– Oh yeah, we get our first good look of Jared Leto’s Joker in action. I don’t really give a damn about the Joker, but YMMV.
