Happy Thanksgiving! Safe journeys to those who are traveling for the holiday.
Harry and the Horcruxes: I went to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and I loved it. MUCH better than Half-Blood Prince. I’ll have more thoughts on the movie later this week (after I see the movie again).
Justice for All? Young Justice premieres on Cartoon Network this Friday. According to the press release, the episode will star Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash and Speedy. No Artemis or Miss Martian in the premiere? Shame on you. Artemis and Miss Martian are also omitted from the banner ads on the Cartoon Network website. Fail, Cartoon Network.
Wear Star Wars – Share Star Wars: I didn’t get a chance to blog about it, but the story of Katie, the young girl bullied for liking Star Wars, has been all over the ‘net. Katie’s mom has updated her blog in response to the outpouring of support Katie received. A Facebook event called “Wear Star Wars – Share Star Wars” has been created. Katie’s mom is asking each person make a donation of a single Star Wars/sci-fi toy to a shelter or hospital in addition to wearing Star Wars apparel on December 10. Please specify that the item can be given to a boy OR a girl, and let’s stop perpetuating the myth of “boys’ items” and “girls’ items”.
Turkeys for Turkey Day: DC Women Kicking Ass has posted her list of Turkeys served up by DC Comics this year. I agree with her turkeys, so go check it out.
Buffy Fail: Warner Brothers announced that creativity is officially dead in Hollywood that they are rebooting Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the big-screen without Joss Whedon’s involvement. This has FAIL written all over it. E! Online contacted Joss for his reaction, and it’s classic Joss.
